Though it has gone through many upgrades and changes, the central theme remains the same: find out who killed the master of the house through guesswork and clues given by other players. Here are some clues on how to build a good game strategy for Clue.

Process of elimination

In the game, Clue players move their tokens around the board and attempt to guess what three cards are in the secret envelope. When they make their guess, pay attention to the cards they name. The clue sheets are your best asset in this game. Since you know which cards you have in your hand, you can cross them off on the sheet; when other players make their guesses, you can use their guesses to deduce which three cards are in the envelope.

Using the board to your advantage

When you move your game piece, aim to place your game piece in the room you most suspect is where the crime occurred. However, if it is too far away, you can still use a less suspect room to your advantage. By trying out different card combinations, you can easily work your way to solving the mystery.

There are some things you can do to improve your Clue skills and certain tricks to remember what card each player named and how to use deductive reasoning to win the game. The best strategy is to play the game frequently. Instead of playing with people who do not play as well as you do, try playing with people who are better at the game than you are; that way, you can learn from them and challenge yourself to become better at the game. In the process, you can learn all the strategy you need through hard work and practice.
