Milton Bradley remained in control of the company until his death in 1911.

The company history

The company was founded with the release of The Checkered Game of Life in 1860. In 1920, the company absorbed the McLouglin Brothers, which was the largest game manufacturer in the United States, and it continued reproducing some of those games. Similarly, in 1987, it purchased Selchow and Righter and acquired rights to both Parcheesi and Scrabble. In 1994, however, it was taken over by the Hasboro company, and games were reproduced under the company’s original name.
