Parker believed in fun board games. He typically designed games based on current events, such as the Alaskan gold rush. Parker Brothers is currently a subsidiary of Hasbro. To date, Parker Brothers has published more than 1,800 games. From 1963-1985, General Mills owned Parker Brothers. Prior to its purchase by General Mills, Parker Brothers was a family-owned company.
